These are all my archived thoughts and opinions on whatever...i doubt anybody will actually be interested in them but im not putting them up for you to read, im putting them up cuz i want to!
 I think i should apologize for saying shit about people who could relate to the line "save me from the nothing ive become" (evanescence, bring me to life), because ive realized that there is more meaning to that line then what i saw when i said that. I now listen to the song, the entire lyrics, and recent experience makes me realize that the song is talking more about relationships than the way you feel about yourself. I've often heard terms like "my other half" and i thuoght that it was corny and stupid at the time...but now ive learned that when you do find someonen you feel that way about, they do become like the other half of you. You become emotionally dependant on them in ways...your emotions reflect their emotions, your thoughts theirs...and then, after becoming so accustomed to sharing yourself and your life so closely with them, when they leave you you feel like a part of you has died, that all you are has been lost, that you have "become nothing". But these are just emotions (not to say that that makes them any less powerful or painful of course) and not the truth...its hard after a "breakup" because it takes time for you to find yourself again as an individual, and me being an ignoranus couldnt see that...but now i do, and i apologiuze to those that can relate to the lyrics of "bring me to life".
FEAR OF DIFFERENCES
Why are we so afraid to accept that which is different than us? We are accustomed to certain things, and when others come along with a different style of doing stuff, we criticise them...think of all the people that you've picked on, or that have picked on you...they've been criticized for either doing (or not doing) things that you do, or the way you do, and so we don't accept them...and if we believe certain things, why do we want everyone else to believe them too? The only reason i can currently think of, is that we're subconsciously scared of being unique, because than we will we isolated and picked on as we isolate and pick on others with differences...but without everyone having their own differences, the world would be a bleak boring place...everything would be the same...no excitment...surprise...no appreciation for anything....We are always trying to conform others to our ways of doing things, but why? i hate to think that we do it because we're afraid of being different, but what other reasons are there? but then again, at other times, we are proud of our differences...but those differences are also our weaknesses at times...why must everything in life be so contradictive?

(quoted from evanescence)...why do people think this way? i mean to me, theyre just lyrics, but some people, lots of people, see it as more...they think like that...but people dont become nothing, they start out as nothing...if you want to be more than nothing, you do it yourself...so many people just wait for oppurtunities (hmm...i wonder how you spell that, cuz i think thats wrong), and say shit like what ive quoted...but its people who make their own oppurtunities that are more than nothing...everyone starts at the same place in life, its what you do with your life that defines what you are, and if all you do is nothing, then yea, that is what you are...so for those of you who feel worthless like your nothing, well get off your ass and do something, cuz the best way to be someone is to do something!

This celebrity seems to be another very contraversial topic...except all i seem to hear about her is bad, but yet her albums sell, her music does well on the charts...Many people are quick to judge, they turn on their tv, see this young woman dancing around in skimpy clothes, sweating in a boxing ring, and they think its horribly trashy...i think that theyre right, it is...but then again do they turn on the tv, look at a Ricky Martin video where he is doing dances just as (if not more) sexual, more revealing (if any) clothes, and very sexual scenes with women, do they turn around and think the same? Sexism has always improved over time, but that doesnt mean its stopped completely...there are still the double standards out there...like guys wearing dresses, girls wearing tuxedos...Guys have always been able to get away with more, and as much as that is improving, it is still a problem in society...there are many examples of this in music videos if your watching for it...just because guys dont have quite the same breasts women do, they can bear more...but then again, if breasts werent so taboo, it wouldnt be sexually provocative, and would have the same plain effect on people that a shirtless man has...but anyways, im getting off topic:p...i often hear things like 'look at how christinas changed, she use to be this sweet innocent singer with a strong voice, now shes a slut'...that was not 'her' being a sweet innocent singer though, that was just her public persona...she often says that that wasnt her, how she is now is the real her...and so shes a 'slut' but should one really be defined by the messages they are trying to send, and by the way they are percieved from the 10% of the time that they are actually seen in public? and many people mistake the message she is sending out...she is not trying to degrade women, but the complete opposite...i mean, just look at the lyrics to this song:

rumors and gossip seem to be in my life a lot this week...there are these rumors going around that im going out with this person, and then suddenly there were these rumors going around that i was having sex with this person (which is totally not the kind of person i am, plus im only 14), and the thing is, when people ask about whether or not im going out with this guy, i dont give a straight answer, and when they ask about whether or not ive slept with him, i just say yes, and go along with whatever whacked up things they come up with, because the thing is, 92% of the people dont truly believe that shit, they just act like they do and whatever for fun...and even if they do believe it, whats wrong with that? if they believe it, then they obviously dont know me, and if they dont know me or are friends with me, it doesnt matter what theyre opinion of me is...and i figure that it doesnt matter what i say or what i dont, whats true or whats not, because in the end theyre just gonna believe whatever they want to believe! but then when i do this, some of my friends make a big deal outta it, getting all worried and shit that guys are gonna start thinking im 'easy' and put me in 'dangerous situations', and yes there is a chance this may be true, but my reputation does not matter to me, if a guy thinks im easy, well theyre gonna find out differently if they try anythng, so what is the big deal? at first i was cracking up over these ridiculous claims, but now i just cant understand why some are discriminating against me because i dont care what others think of me??? |
CHURCH
I had to go to church today...which normally wouldnt be so bad except for the fact that it wasnt a church i like (we usually go to a different one) and i was being forced to go...which i think totally takes away the whole point of going to church...and in fact, why is church so important in the roman catholic religion? would it not be just as good for someone to lie down at the end of their day and have their own private time to reflect on God? must we really have to go into this building every sunday to be good christians? or can we just have the heart mind and soul of a good christian? and half the people who go to church just sit there the whole time and think about something else...which you could do anywhere...I think that if you go to church unwillingly, or go and not even pay attention, its just disrespectful...dont get me wrong, church can be a wonderful thing, but for the right type of person...the person who actually pays attention, the person who wants to respect God as a group...but for the individual who would rather keep their relationship with God private and inside them, why must the church make it seem that it is wrong?
*rereading this paragraph i can see how a lot of it may appear to come across differently than what i meant, so please do not make assumptions or anything*
CELEBRITIES
I use to want to be famous, just like a lot of people out there...but now i really dont, cuz they live a really hard life...they have none of their own time, everyone seems to make theyre decisions for them...they cant have any time alone, or go out in public without being mobbed...and to top that all off, theres the public. they dont know these famous people at all, yet that doesnt stop them from judging them by what they say, what they wear, how they dance! god its horrible...i mean im not gonna pretend im not one of these judgmental critics, cuz i am...i cant stand avril, or missy elliot (love their songs tho;p), and i dont even know them...i can bitch about a lot of celebs for more than just a paragraph, and i dont even know them! no wonder eminem raps about the stuff he raps about in 'the way i am', can u imagine what living that kind of life would be like? it would be really damn horrible...it wouldnt be living your life, it would be living the life of the public's ideas...we focus too much on the actors and singers than we do on their movies and songs, but when it comes to (lets say,) writers, we pay more attention to the book than we do to those who wrote it...its unfair the way celebrities are treated, and i think more people should at least try to be more fair when theyre judging them, because god knos were not gonna stop judging them, but we can do what we can to be fair.
ALTERNATIVE REALITIES
Some people do live in their own little worlds. They believe only what they want to believe, say only what they want to say, hear what only they want to hear...even if they know certain things are not at all true, they make themselves believe they are...but y? Do they think it makes life easier? Do they think that by deluding themselves they can make this fantasy of theirs real? Cuz it never does...in fact it just makes life worse for them, but blinded by their illusions they dont see that...they refuse to wake up and smell the roses just because they might prick themselves...but they dont see that the lies theyre living are ten times worse! even if it doesnt seem so at the time, it is always worse in the future because of it...and then when people make them realize what theyre doing they get mad and go into denial...its a pathetic cycle that seems unending...why are some people so stupid?

BLIND OBSESSIONS
love isnt blind, obsessions are! people can be so fixated on one certain person they dont realize just what these people are doing to their lives! i mean there are so many birds in the sky, birds who might even be better for the 'obsessee' than the 'obsession', but they are two blinded to see that...and they see only what they want to see in that person, they believe only what they want to, whether or not its the truth. their fixations even depress them, for so many unbelievable reasons, they feel horrible because they dont have this 'amazing' person, they feel unattractive, they feel inadaquete, when in reality they could be this really amazing person themselves who many people want, but theyre too oblivious to this fact. these people cant even grasp the reality of the situation, theyre technically blinded by the IDEA that they have in theyre head about that person. A they could be passing up so many potential bfs/gfs just for this one person who wont go out with them, and who makes them feel horrible about themselves, i mean is it really worth it?
DR.PHIL
i cannot stand dr.phil! i mean he profits off of other people issues, and then to top that off he goes and gets all this attention and his own show and shit. and also whats up with the people who go to him? i mean sure, who doesnt have issues, but i really doubt that these people with so called problems would really want everyone in the nation to know about it if theyre problems were real, they just want a spot on television! i dont have problems with people seeing a psychologist or whatever but if they were sincere about it they wouldnt be having their little 'session' where everyone on national television could see. and then thers dr.phil who enjoys 'helping' people while embarassing them to the rest of the nation, and getting rich and famous by doing so...its ridiculous! and people, come on, if u want everyone to kno about ur issues then send out a bloody email with one of those 'if u dont send this something bad will happen, if u send it to 5 people...' cuz there are always a bunch of stupid people who always fall for that.
RACISM
Most people hear the word 'racism' and think of it in accordance to race, but i think that it not only applies to race, but to religion too. Im a Catholic (tho i dont agree with many of the things the 'typical' one should), and of course being a catholic, i think that Jesus has in fact been born, but just thats my opinion i shouldnt go and make fun of Jews because they dont, i respect that everyone has their own opinions (or at least i try to to the best of my abilities). What i was trying to get at before was that i think racism is especially applied to wiccan or pagan religions. I've been reading about these religions, because i've noticed that most people stereotype that stuff as 'bad', 'phoney', 'stupid', or 'satanic'. But do these people know anything about these religions? i doubt it. so thats why i've been reading about them, to learn about them from an insiders knowledge, not the knowledge of the next shmuck i see walking down the street. After gaining some more knowledge on these beliefs, i see that they are not so different than the christian beliefs (in morals beliefs, not necessarily myths or so called 'facts'), they are (for the most part) against harming things, against a lot of things they are stereotyped to believe in and practice. as for magick, (different than 'magic', trust me) and whether or not they believe and practice it, we all have our own beliefs and things we practice that are considered odd by some, and because some people do not understand certain practices of theirs, they are labelled as bad, and so they become known as satanic, however if you learn about paganism and wicca and satanism, you will see just how different they are. main message that im saying? i gess it would be something like: dont make assumptions about things you know nothing about, because you dont know anything about them!
MORE ON TEENS AND LOVE
i dont see why teens feel they need to have a special someone in their life. I mean god, im only 14, and i have friends who think theyre practically worthless without someone, and thats really stupid. i mean were young, we have our whole lives ahead of us, but we spend our time obsessing about the opposite sex? i mean 7 times outta 10 that just ends up in you being depressed, so what the hell is that accomplishing? i mean hey if someone just happened to come along then hey thats great, but fixating on it? i dont think so. i have better things to do, and honestly i think that pretty much everyone does, so why do we seem to feel a need to have a special someone?
EMINEM
I love eminem. I think hes awesome. Some people call him a 'hate rapper', but he says hes just being misunderstood. I also think that he is being misunderstood...he is no worse than a lot of the population, he just has the guts to speak his mind, and so people discriminate against him? I admit, that young kids probably should not be listening to his stuff. it IS vulgar and has a lot of profanity in it, but most people think that because he raps about things that happen, and things as some people out there see them, they assume that his music describes what HE thinks is right and wrong, what he sees as acceptable. When one of his songs is in relation to him, i think it is obvious, but many songs like the real slim shady are just about the world, not him and who he is as a person. I read an article where he said that he has no problem with gays, but just because he uses the word 'faggot' many people go and assume that he is a homophob...so is it him thats the problem or is it the assumptions people make??...
BELIEFS
I dont understand why people are so willing to believe in God, but not in aliens, or in ghosts or anything else of the paranormal sort. Each of them has just about the same amount of actual evidence that it exists, and if you think about it logically, the whole concept of God is pretty far-fetched, and the idea of life on other planets is actually quite logical, but yet people choose to believe in God more than life on other planets. Maybe the mind doesnt want to believe in the paranormal because of fear of the unknown, and the concept of God and religion offers comfort to people. If someone chose to believe in aliens or anything paranormal, that would bring about feelings of uncertainty, fear, paranoia, instability, while religion offers the complete opposite. I guess thats probably why people find the ideas of life on other planets and ghosts so hard to accept, personally, i believe in them, because whether or not you choose to accept it, there is proof out there, real proof, not just hoaxes, and why shouldnt we believe in it? Really? if you actually come up with answers to that question, the same answer can be used to give a reason as to why you shouldnt believe in your religion.
THE 'ISOLATION' OF TEENS
hmmm...what should i write about today?... You know whats funny? how alike teen are, though they all seem to feel so isolated from everyone around them, like no one understands them, but i think that when they are feeling this way, they dont realize just about every other teen is feeling this way too. I've noticed that anytime i get into an argument with someone, at some point i am saying 'you dont understand'. But maybe they do understand? Who am i to tell them what they do and do not understand, i dont really know what theyre thinking do i? Maybe im just in that argument because we cannot express how we feel with words very well, so it comes across that both parties do not understand each other, and they are both offended at the accusation of not understanding. Ironic isnt it? We are so quick to assume that we know what is going on in anothers head, but if we are so sure that we understand them, wouldnt they be just as sure that they understand us? Confusing, but also not so confusing doncha think? Maybe we should be more open-minded to what others are saying, without realizing it, we seem to have this 'i am right you are wrong' attitude. Right now you're probably thinking how screwed up this sounds, but think about it, i mean REALLY think about it. Dont just see the letters becoming words and words becoming sentences, because thats just reading, not thinking. Is your mind really as open as you think? Are you quick to assume that you are not understood? Because you probably are, or at least there are many individuals out there thinking the same thoughts, feeling the same way, so why is that even with the realizations, many of us still feel missunderstood and isolated? Something to think about, if your mind is open that is...
COMPLAINERS
I complain a lot, i admit it, i do. But i dont (or at least i try not to) complain about something when there is an obvious way i can fix whatever i am complaining about. I use to do that, but then i realized just how stupid and lazy it is. If your sweater is off and your complaining about how cold you are, MAYBE just maybe you should put the sweater on. If you put it on and your still cold, then fine, complain, just dont complain when you can easily fix the problem. Im not trying to be mean to people who do this, im just trying to point out that theyre being unreasonable so that they and everyone else around them will be just a little bit happier, cause people dont enjoy people who complain a lot, especially when they could do something about it.
